About Us

Who We Are

Clear Skies Above Barre, Inc. is a grassroots group of citizens who are concerned about the proposed Heritage Wind Project, working to protect the health, safety, and welfare of the residents of Barre, N.Y. and surrounding communities that would be impacted by the proposed industrial wind turbines.

Clear Skies Above Barre, Inc. is a not for profit organization that was formed by residents of this community and not by any other organization. We have not been contacted or funded by any other organization. We received Intervenor Funding that was used solely for the Article 10 process during May 2018 and have recently been awarded additional Intervenor Funding in 2020.

We rely entirely on donations made by concerned individuals and need continued support. Please consider making a one-time or recurring monthly donation.

We appreciate and thank you for your support!

We Believe That

  • Industrial wind turbines are not an agricultural discussion.
  • This is not a property rights issue.
  • A Professional Fee Reimbursement Agreement is not in the best interest of the Town of Barre.
  • The proposed Heritage Wind Project by Apex Clean Energy is not a wise investment for New York State.
  • Industrial Wind Turbines in the Town of Barre would cost more than the town would gain.
  • The Town of Barre has a voice in the 94-C Process and we need to use it.
  • The town should wait to negotiate HCA/PILOT until we know all the facts in order to determine what the best decision for all residents is.
