ORES overruled the judges -- 6 of the turbines may not be sited within 2 miles of the Wildlife Management Area. There is a lot unknown and yet to come. We will keep you all updated. All the hard work dedicated to our community and environment has made a difference. Thank you to everyone!
Please remember this is not over. We urge all residents to reach out to us if approached to sign anything. We are expecting it and want you to be aware.
It has come to attention Clear Skies Above Barre (CSAB) that this week, Republican households in the town of Barre received an anonymous postcard slandering CSAB with half truths and lies. We know this postcard was sent anonymously and timed to align with the Republican primary in the hope of swaying the Barre community. The truth of the matter is the turbine project, although approved, has changed multiple times and is not finalized. The anonymous writer includes "if the turbines are built" a few different ways right on the postcard.
CSAB has and always will, advocate for transparency and factual truth. The truth is there is more to this project, so who represents the Town of Barre will matters! We encourage all voters in Barre to search out these candidates and support them as they strive to serve Barre in humbleness. [CSAB does not (and has not) finically supported any candidate.]
We are made up of residents who deeply care for all Barre and want our neighbors to be able to make informed decisions in truth not fear.

Clear Skies Above Barre, Inc. is a grassroots group of citizens who are concerned about the proposed Heritage Wind Project, working to protect the health, safety, and welfare of the residents of Barre, N.Y. and surrounding communities that would be impacted by the proposed industrial wind turbines.
The Apex Heritage Wind Project proposes to build +/- 33 industrial wind turbines in our rural residential and agricultural community. These industrial turbines would be 650' - 680' in height to the tip of the blade, taller than any building in Western New York, and all be located within less than 22 square miles.
